San Francisco: Ike's Place + Dolores Park

This summer, I went back home to San Francisco to visit friends and family. Luckily, the sun came out while I was there (I was never a big fan of it's infamous fog). Taking advantage of the free vitamin D, we naturally packed up and headed to Dolores Park.

Ike's Place is always a must-see/eat when I'm home. I was lucky enough to get a chance to briefly chat with Ike while I was there. After the rapid expansion and popularity of Ike's, I think it's so awesome that he's still working in his stores and meeting with his customers/fans. He's a humble guy and that's why everyone loves him!

After much consideration, I went for the Nacho Boy, which comes complete with Avocado, Mushrooms, Roast Beef, Swiss. I asked for it without mushrooms. I never really got mushrooms. Not a fan of their consistency or their subtle flavor.

Anyway, the Nacho Boy was AMAZING. Not that that's surprising, as I'm always consistently wow'ed by Ike's sandos. Their ingredients are always top quality and fresh as could be.

Also, the vibe is always young and hip, with locals from the neighborhood who know where to get a good sandwich. Be prepared to wait in line for this reason. But that'll give you time to decide which awesome sandwich to order. Maybe you'll even get a chance to chat with Ike himself.

Pro tip: Get your sandwich on dutch crunch. Always dutch crunch.

Gotta love that SF skyline!
