Furla Grand Opening: A Boston Blogger Event

Furla Boston Blogger Event

Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to Furla's Grand Opening in Boston's Copley Place Mall. Founded in 1927, Furla is an upscale handbag, shoe and accessory company out of Bologna, Italy.

I love the bright colors Furla uses in their handbags, accessories, and even winter rain boots shown above! They offer neutral colors as well, but the bright colors are what really strike me.

Furla's grand opening was so fun - they had a DJ, champagne, and delicious hors d'oeuvres to keep us entertained. As for the products themselves, you could really tell that each bag and shoe is an investment piece made with the highest quality. I was so tempted to get one, but I tend to go more for the Target bags that I go through in a season or two!

Comment Challenge: Do you go for investment pieces in your handbags, or do you prefer the less pricey bags?

  1. I would love a Michael Kors handbag but then I feel like if I spent that much money on a bag, I would start to feel guilty. My current handbag is by Urban Expressions and was under $100. So maybe one day I'll splurge, but not right now.

  2. I'm right down the middle. In the past I have had designer handbags. As a new mom, your purse becomes the diaper bag. So I lean more toward pricey diaper bags and buy myself lower end purses for work. However I have my eye on a particular Kate Spade bag once my child is diaper bag free! (:

  5. I LOVE this Chelsea-- gosh I really wish I were in Boston now so we could meet up! This is such a fun event :) Also, I'm loving your new blog layout, so pretty and easy to read. And as far as handbags go... I love function and style, but don't see the point in paying a 4-digit amount for a bag, even though I can definitely appreciate a gorgeous handcrafted piece:)

  6. I love those wellington boots! They'd be perfect for fall in England right now! :)

  7. Chelsea, a few months ago I invested in a Furla bag (on the whim, it was on sale at Nordstrom Rack for $250) and I have never regretted it! I didn't know anything about the brand or even how upscale it was, but I thought $250 was worth getting a bag that I fell in love with instantly. And it was great quality too! Very jealous of your event!

  8. I love Furla! I guess to answer your question definitely investment pieces when it comes to handbags and leather goods, what about you? Furla is reasonable enough though- I think their quality is always there and timeless too.

Would love to see a post on any pieces you picked up at the event!

  25. I love hand bags, I think I do a bit of both..sometimes I see really cute bags and clutches that are less expensive but very cute. Other times, I will splurge on a great bag especially if it comes in a great color. I really like Furla bags they look like candy!

  26. For me investment pieces are the way to go! Its not only environmentally friends since you arent buying soooo many things. But I do have to say that its better to buy on-trend bags from less pricey places because you might end up not liking it after a while.

Investment pieces are the bags I go for. I have just around 5 bags for every occasion (everyday, semiformal, formal, cute and casual, super fancy) :)

  28. Love your OOTD, so simple yet classy.

I tend to save more money for bags, because I notice the quality worth the money, but I don't collect them, I'm the type of person who buy a bag when I need to.
So when I feel like I want to get a new bag, I'd rather find it in a more affordable price.

Btw, I'm following you via GFC & Bloglovin.

  31. I do believe in investment bags, but at this point in my life an investment bag is more $100-$200 rather than $1000+. But I can always appreciate looking at pricey bags ;) The bright jelly bags are too cute!

  35. Hello Chelsey! The furla bags are beautiful and well made. We have a store here in Orlando that I visit (window shopping) every once in a while. For me it all depends. If the bag is classic, of a neutral color and practical, I would consider investing in it however, I love wearing different stuff so buying less expensive ones allows me to do that. You look super cute in the pictures and I am I am glad you had a great time at the Furla Grand Opening:-) XOXO, Jeannette.

  38. What a fun event! Thanks for sharing all of the lovely pieces on display! I've never taken particularly good care of my handbags, so I've always opted for affordable, off-brand designs. After I started blogging and looking into more high-end designers, I started lusting over investment designer bags! I love Betsey Johnson, and most of hers top out at just over $100. The Moschino bags I'm obsessed with at the moment, however? Not so affordable.
