First Giveaway: The Bonne Femme Cookbook!

As many of you know, I absolutely love to cook. Though most of my food posts are of restaurant reviews, I'm always striving to learn new delicious recipes. When Harvard Common Press reached out and offered to send me The Bonne Femme Cookbook, I got so excited!

And what's even better than me getting an amazing cookbook? YOU getting one too!

Harvard Common Press has generously offered to sponsor a giveaway of the book to one lucky winner. This quality cookbook would make a great addition to your kitchen or as a holiday gift, so be sure to enter the fun Rafflecopter at the bottom of this post!

The cookbook is filled with page after page of juicy, scrumptious recipes that real French women cook every day. I decided to try the simple Fish Grenobloise plate, since I cook fish so often and wanted to try a new spin on the dish.

Ingredients (makes 4 servings):

4 (6-8 oz) skinless fish fillets (1/2 inch thick)
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons capers, drained
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley
4 lemon wedges

We pretty much cut the above recipe in half so as to make just 2 servings.

Step 1. Season both sides of fillets with salt and pepper.

Step 2. Dredge both fillets in flour to lightly coat, shaking off the excess.

Step 3. In a large nonstick skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of the oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers. Add fillets and cook, turning once, until they flake easily with a fork, about 5 minutes (reduce heat to medium if fish browns too quickly).

Step 4. Remove pan from heat. Transfer fish to a platter and sprinkle with the vinegar.

Step 5. Off the heat, warm the remaining 3 tablespoons oil in the still-warm skillet. Stir in the capers. Spoon the sauce over the fish and finish with parsley. Place one lemon wedge on each plate for squeezing onto the fish.

Et voila! The finished product is a flavor-packed piece of salmon that is incredibly delicious. I will definitely be making this one again!

Be sure to enter the giveaway below to win your very own copy of The Bonne Femme Cookbook - cook your own amazing French meals, or gift it to someone special!*

  4. Oooh I love cookbooks, though I rarely use them lol. I've never had salmon before (I know, I know) let alone cooked it, but this looks amazing - I would totally try this for a fancy dinner party. I might practice first on my husband lol

  5. My mouth is watering. Salmon is one of my favorite things ever. Though I typically bake it, I'd totally be willing to try something new. Cook books are always great because they inspire me to come outside my comfort zone and try new things. What a great giveaway! Good luck friends!

  44. I love that you're so into cooking and actually good at it! I've always wanted to learn how to cook or even know how to cook something, but I'm so clueless in the kitchen! This makes me want to just cook everything in the kitchen though because that salmon looked delicious. I would totally use this on those cold winter weekends, staying indoors!
