Sweetgreen and Daydreams

sweetgreen boston

With Spring finally here, it's time to bust out the cool, fresh salads! My go-to salad spot here in Boston has got to be Sweetgreen, hands down. Some of you may even remember my previous post on their delicious salad bowls from last year.

After nerding out for a day at PaxEast (the funnest video game scene in Boston!), we stopped by Sweetgreen to reboot. This time around we ordered the Harvest Bowl, which comes with organic wild rice, shredded kale, apples, sweet potatoes, toasted almonds, local goat cheese, roasted chicken, and balsamic vinaigrette. I'm not a fan of the crumbly cheeses, so I swapped out the goat cheese for some juicy tomatoes!

I was super excited about this salad, but it turned out to be a little too earthy for me (with the kale and sweet potato). I tend to like really bright, light flavors in my salads. It was still super fresh and tasty though!

When you eat healthy you get to splurge a little, right? We found the cutest game store that had this cookie scented pillow. It ACTUALLY smelled just like fresh baked cookies! I almost bought it, but decided that it would just make me crave cookies 24/7.

  4. This salad makes me so hungry. I feel like I haven't eaten veggies in weeks! It's an exaggeration, of course, but sometimes I just get a real craving for some spinach or kale. Haha.

  7. I've become a big fan of salads, especially any salad from Trader Joes. But I love anything with avocado, heirloom tomatoes and some sort of vinaigrette.

  13. The water was too dirty in Indonesia to properly wash salads-- so if I ate it I would get sick. Now that I'm back in the US I can eat as much as I want!

  14. oh my gosh I need that pillow, haha!
I love salads, I often eat them but my absolute favorite is fruit salad! I know, it's not 'real salad' but I'm just obsessed with it. :) x

  16. I've only recently started to eat salads, back in Malaysia it was the last thing that I will ever order. Asian food are just too good compare to salads. LOL!

  19. I really am very picky and it's difficult for me to eat salad. It has to be green leaf lettuce, croutons, the original Caesar dressing. that's about it :) anything else would be bonus like egg, and other meats.

  24. I'm with you, I much prefer lighter salads. My favorite is spinach with some sort of sweet fruit like pears or strawberries! And oh my, that pillow is awesome! Although, like you said, it would make me crave cookies 24/7...not that I don't already without the pillow lol

  33. Oooh that's a pillow! I was like "is that an enormous cookie? aren't cookies scented naturally?" haha. Mmm salad. I like to add fruit or nuts to salad to give it extra flavor, kick, & nutrients.

  34. That pillow sounds awesome! I remember going to this place a lot during college, they opened it my junior or senior year. But sometimes I found it to be a bit pricey, albeit worth it. I love chickpeas in my salads and feta!
