Friendsgiving Outfit Feat. Happiness Boutique Necklace

Happiness Boutique Jewelry
Necklace: Happiness Boutique | Sweater & Knee Socks: Target | Skirt & Wedges: H&M

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Our families are back in San Francisco, which is too far to travel for just a weekend, especially since we're going back for Christmas soon. So we went to Friendsgiving instead, which is like Thanksgiving, only celebrated with your friends.

We brought our famous apple crisp to the party, this time using coconut flour in place of regular (and it tasted amazing)!

Happiness Boutique Jewelry

For my outfit, I opted for a cozy grey sweater from Target, my favorite red velvet skirt from H&M, and this super glam necklace c/o Happiness Boutique which I'm now obsessed with! Happiness Boutique has tons of high-quality statement necklaces and statement earrings, along with free (and fast!) shipping. Their pieces are an absolute fall and winter staple because they dress up sweaters so perfectly!

I really respect the mission of Happiness Boutique to promote positivity in women. They even throw a bi-monthly giveaway which is extremely exciting, and for those of you interested in freebies they have a great customer rewards program!

Round Up of Black Friday Round Ups!

Black Friday roundup blog 2015

Happy Black Friday all! Instead of listing my favorite Black Friday 2015 deals, I figured I'd do you one better and list the best blog roundups I've found for today's sales! Here are the best deal lists I've found so far:

Extra Petite: She lists everything from Ann Taylor, to Anthropologie, to Sorel, to J Crew Factory! I love her roundup because she links to her own posts wearing the items on sale so you can see what they look like before making your purchase decision.

Visions of Vogue: Jenna has a major list going of all the major brands, their sales, and their promo codes, including Victoria's Secret, Shopbop, and West Elm.

Tiffany Style Blog: Another massive list of all shops having sales, including H&M, Kate Spade, and Loft.

Cella Jane: Great list with images of Black Friday sales, including Madewell, Express, Gap, and many others.

Any and all of the above links are a good start if you're feeling overwhelmed by sales today! Hope you found this post helpful and Happy Thanksgiving!

Fall Menu Tasting at Seasons 52

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

Last year, Seasons 52 in Chestnut Hill asked me to try their winter menu, and it ended up being my first time ever trying surf and turf. Needless to say it changed my life. So this year when they asked me to try their fall menu, I jumped at the chance.

Read on to see how the dishes fared this time around, and to see what Patriots player crashed the party!

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

We were given various white and red wines to try. My favorite was the champagne, as per usual.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

For my entree I ordered the Scallops and Risotto, which came with risotto and broccolini, and was absolutely delicious. The chewy texture of the scallops went so well with the warm comfort of the risotto. The broccolini of course is just necessary for those vitamins.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

We tried a ton of Seasons 52 appetizers and small plates, like the shrimp, chicken skewers and meatballs above.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

These "Asian-glazed" (what does that even mean?) grilled chicken skewers were really tasty - they came topped with sesame seeds and roasted peanut vinaigrette.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

These meatballs were TOO good.

This is obviously the most adorable scallop presentation ever - on a giant seashell! I would've taken a better picture but I just wanted to eat them.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

These Duck Wing Lollipops were my favorite app, hands down. I'm such a fan of duck when it's made right, and these were so scrumptious and full of flavor. Especially with the lime squeezed over them, you'll never claim that sweet lollipops are better than savory again.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

Okay, I really dodged on bullet on this one, guys. I'm pretty terrible about eating spicy things so i steered clear of these Blistered Shishito Peppers (with Sonoma goat-feta cheese, lemon aioli, and sumac). Everyone said they would be fine, and only like 1 in 100 are actually spicy at all. But all of a sudden practically everyone that tried one claimed how spicy they all were! Either we were a table of hypochondriacs or we got a super spicy batch of these peppers.

Seasons 52 food blog review 2015

A close second favorite app of mine were these flatbreads that Seasons 52 is renowned for. They even made me an amazing gluten-free one with artichoke, laurel chenel goat cheese, spinach, balsamic onions, and roasted peppers. You literally could not tell that they were gluten free! They were very accommodating and had a large, delicious g-free menu to order from.

As we neared the end of our meal, we noticed that we hadn't seen the wait staff in a while. Just then, a member of our party returned from the bathroom and mentioned casually that he saw Rob Gronkowski ("Gronk") in the bathroom. Peering outside of our dining room, we saw a huddle of waitresses staring at him at the bar. We all found it hilarious!

Be sure to check out my latest tasting of Season 52's spring menu!

Gold Fringe & Leg Warmers

Scarf: Gap | Sweater: Target | Skirt: Primark | Necklace: Rocksbox | Boots: Merrell | Legwarmers: Modern and Chic Boutique

We've been pretty lucky with our weather this fall. By this time last year, we had already had our first snow flurries. This year we've gotten a few extra weeks of warmer weather, but it's starting to get seriously chilly here in Boston. And chilly weather means sweaters, leg warmers, and statement necklaces are coming out!

Bold statement necklaces are my favorite addition to glam up any sweater for fall, and my current favorite is this gold fringe Astrid Necklace by Perry Street, c/o Rocksbox. P.S. Don't forget you can try Rocksbox for a month free with code chelseaxoxo2! Sign up now to get your box for the holidays!

I'm also the hugest "The Office" fan, so I love that this necklace is named Astrid (totally makes me think of Jan's baby)! Anyone? Moving on!

I'm also super stoked about these leg warmers, which were basically free from Modern and Chic Boutique - they give away free items periodically, you just pay for the shipping which is around $6.95.

Society of Grownups

society of grownups

Hi all! I recently attended Society of Grownups' 1st birthday party, and loved it. For those of you who don't know, Society of Grownups is a great local company in Boston (who just expanded to NYC and Philly), that brings you classes on how to be an adult (which I think most of us can use). They cover everything from cooking to investing to wine tasting, and I'm so grateful to be able to utilize them in my city!

Their goody bags were NO JOKE, and included t-shirts, a deck of cards, a sassy 8-ball (it never gives you a straight answer), and even a mini potted plant (below).

I genuinely believe in what Society of Grownups does, and I wish more cities offered these classes on how to do "adult things." It's like we're just supposed to automatically know how to do these things, which isn't usually the case, and it's great to have experts there to help out.

Be sure to follow @SocietyGrownups on Twitter as I guest host for them on Tuesday, 11/17 at 7 PM EST - we're talking about all things holiday travel!

Parish Cafe: Hot and Cold Chicken Salad

parish cafe boston

The other day I met up with my blogger friend Kat for lunch, and the meal was so delish I had to share it with you all! We went to the Parish Cafe, which is known for it's simple, unique concept: They reached out to local Boston chefs, and had them each create a scrumptious sandwich just for the cafe.

I've actually been gluten-free for about a month now, so I opted out of the sandwiches this time around. Luckily, it turns out that the rest of their menu is equally scrumptious and noteworthy.

We ordered the Hot and Cold Salad, which comes with both grilled & chilled chicken breast, marinated in olive oil and garlic, and served with arugula, caramelized almonds, shaved carrots and chilled snap peas over warm sticky rice with a sesame-soy vinaigrette. YUM.

Basically the arugula and chilled chicken were on top, and underneath the salad was a warm bed of sticky rice with grilled chicken. The rice made it more filling than a regular salad, and the warm finishing was great for the chilly weather we've been having.

I also loved this pint glass fixture they had on the ceiling over the bar!

How to Wear a Blanket Scarf

how to wear a blanket scarf

Hi all! As you all know, blanket scarves are all the rage this season - and for obvious reasons! They're super soft, keep you toasty, and can be styled so many different ways for versatility. I recently (FINALLY) got my first blanket scarf from Bourbon & Boots, and was super excited to open the package and wear it out! However, when I pulled out the scarf, I realized just how HUGE these things are. They're not called blanket scarves for no reason - they're literally the size of a throw!

This led me on a super serious Blanket Scarf Mission: I scoured through tons of blogs, Instagram accounts, even Youtube tutorials, and came away with 4 of my favorite ways to style a blanket scarf. Hope you enjoy and are able to use these versatile looks!

How to Wear a Blanket Scarf

Look 1: Shawl Style

This is probably the easiest and warmest style to wear a blanket scarf. You simply fold the scarf in half, making a hot dog style rectangle, and drape it over your shoulders. It's basically like a shawl...or a blanket!

Look 2: Belt Style

The belt style is nice because you don't have to worry about holding the scarf on you if it gets windy. Plus, it keeps your core pretty warm since it's belted to your mid-section. To achieve this look, simply fold the scarf TWICE in the hot dog style, creating a thinner rectangle. Then, you can wear it around your neck like a regular scarf and pin it down with a belt.

Look 3: Infinity Style

The third way to wear a blanket scarf is truly ginormous and will keep your core super cozy. Simply fold the scarf into a triangle, then tie two of the corners behind your neck and tuck the ends under the scarf. Voila! You've got the quintessential blanket scarf look that will keep you stylish and toasty even in the autumn chill.

Look 4: Jacket Style

The fourth style takes look 3 and puts a jacket over it, rather than simply wearing it over a top or sweater. This is perfect for an especially chilly day when you need an extra layer of warmth. Make sure the blanket scarf gets to peep out here!

Autumn Must-Haves

Hey all! Lately I've been really into the fall fashion outfits on Instagram and I've been compiling an Autumn must-have list from SheInside that I thought I would share with you! The items shown here are some of my favorites because not only are they cute but they're SUPER affordable too!

Khaki Lapel Coat // $33.99
Plaid Shoulder Bag // $19.91
Plaid Frayed Scarf // $16.14
Floral Dress // $18.88

My favorite has got to be that burgundy lapel coat. It looks sturdy enough to keep the wind at bay and is the perfect fall color! I'm also obsessed with the black mesh dress - after all, fall is for layering but we can still dress for a night on the town.

I would definitely wear the floral dress out to brunch on the weekends, and could totally see myself pairing that fun shoulder bag with those knee boots! I'm getting ahead of myself though. One must-have at a time.

Mei Mei the Force Be With You

mei mei boston

Hi all! Today I'm bringing you a local Boston favorite: Mei Mei restaurant (and I clearly still have Star Wars on the brain from our halloween outfits - stormtrooper and Rey)!

Mei Mei started out as a local food truck that was so popular it now has a brick and mortar venue, serving up Asian-American fusion cuisine. The atmosphere is modern and trendy, with exposed brick, chalkboards, and nice hardwood floors and detailing. The menu is unique and healthy, which is always appreciated!

I ordered the Yellow Curry, which comes with Thai yellow coconut curry, fresh tofu, winter squash, pickled cabbage, and white rice. It was super good! The curry was thick and flavorful, and squash was really fresh. I loved the presentation of the colors and fresh-as-can-be ingredients. I'm not the biggest cabbage fan, but I know it's really good for you so I dealt with it!

Here is the Chinese Rice Porridge, with cilantro, pickled cabbage, and umami beans. The porridge was warm and comforting, but a little tricky to pick up with chopsticks. It's totally possible there were spoons at the front that we were supposed to use! Again, I love the presentation here - you can tell they take care to ensure the plates are visually appetizing as well.

Overall, I think Mei Mei has a really unique menu and is striving for healthy options which is great. I'll have to come back to try their most popular dish, the Double Awesome - which is eggs on a scallion pancake with pesto and cheddar cheese!

Comment Challenge: What's your favorite type of fusion cuisine?
