Last Sunday, Boston closed Newbury Street to cars (dubbed "Open Newbury"). This may seem like a simple feat, but it's actually a big deal! Newbury Street is lined with boutiques, larger stores, restaurants, nail salons, and everything else you could hope for on a weekend stroll.

It's super cute because even big stores like Starbucks and Anthropologie are nestled in cozy local-looking brownstones. The street is usually bustling with bumper-to-bumper vehicles, so to be able to walk along the middle of the road and play corn hole was so freeing and fun! Plus, other major cities like New York and San Francisco have street festivals pretty frequently, so it's really nice to have the same experience here in Boston.

To stroll Open Newbury, I wore my new favorite dress c/o J. McLaughlin! Guys, I'm really head over heels for this dress. I think it may be the perfect dress, no joke. Not only is it a melding of my two favorite colors (blue and pink), but it's impossibly soft and comfortable while being structured enough to wear in the office (it has a collar, after all). Plus, it has pockets!

I accessorized with this gorgeous Daniel Wellington Classy Winchester watch with a pink and navy band, rose gold frame, and Swarowski crystals! I'm so smitten with it, I wear it almost every day. If you're in the market for a new watch I highly recommend these - they're gorgeous, classic, and the bands are interchangeable! So you can have this blue & pink band one day, and a brown leather band the next! Here's another close-up below (from another day & outfit):

Our first stop was the Daniel Wellington pop up (which will be at 211 Newbury until the end of August)! The shop is clean and classic, and since DW is a Swedish brand we got to sample some delish Swedish chocolates with caramel called Daim!

After some shopping and strolling in the sun, we stopped by Sonsie for some pizza and salad. It wasn't quite as good as the last few times we dined there (the pizza had less flavor, the "anchovy caesar" only came with 2 measly anchovies, and the waiter spilled wine all over my shoes), but hopefully that's just a fluke!

I also stood in line for an embarrassingly long time at the Brandy Melville warehouse sale, where everything was $5, $10, or $15. It was pretty crazy but a fun experience and I got a couple of cute tops from it!

All in all, Open Newbury was super fun and a great local event to bring people together. I hope Boston takes after other major cities and has more events like this on a regular basis!
