When I came home to visit San Francisco, I knew I wanted to get some good Mexican food. Naturally we went to Nopalito, an organic and sustainable Mexican restaurant in the Inner Sunset.

These Seasonal Sangrias were deliciously dangerous: White Wine, Strawberry Liqueur, Vida Mezcal, and lemon. They tasted so good and hit you out of nowhere! All the more reason to chow down when your food arrives.

I ordered the Enchiladas de Mole con Pollo (chicken), which came complete with sauce of chiles, chocolate, nuts, chicken, tortillas, onions, queso fresco, and refried pinquito beans.

Quesadilla con Flor de Calabaza: Corn tortilla, squash blossoms, summer squash, onions, serranos, jack cheese, queso fresco, and salsa de tomatillo y chile piquin.

Carnitas: Braised pork, orange, bay leaf, milk, cinnamon, beer, cabbage salad, pickled jalapeƱos, and salsa de tomatillo. Served with three fresh tortillas.

Absolutely loved our colorful check and complimentary dessert bites!
