Favorite neighborhood in the world, hands down. Lower Haight in San Francisco has got it all: it’s filled with life, community, local restaurants, boutiques, and plenty of gorgeous street art (how amazing is the above mural, painted on the side of a local grocery store). We ventured here for brunch at one of those local gems: Maven.
Sound familiar? This is hardly the first time I’ve featured this venue on my blog – you may remember past Maven meals.
Maven is always packed, so the hostess will often take your number and call or text you when your table’s ready. We peaked in the boutiques nearby before we came back for our meal. The top plate pictured above is French Toast, the bottom is a side of Scrambled Eggs and a Green Salad.
I’m usually floored by Maven, and I would definitely recommend their duck sliders, but we weren’t too impressed with their french toast (above).
My plate was okay for what it was – a side of scrambled eggs and a salad. I wish there had been a tad more flavor/dressing to the salad, but that probably would have made it less healthy! There were a lot of great options on the menu that probably would have been amazing, but since I’m currently going gluten-free I had to opt for these sides.
Can’t beat that view! Take a look at more great San Francisco street art below.
