Pleated maxi skirts are one of my favorite trends this season (along with ruffles and straw hats & bags)! Pleated skirts can be dressed up or down depending on your mood and schedule, and they’re super comfortable.
I searched high and low, ordering countless pleated skirts to find the best one, and this one seriously takes the cake you guys! It’s not sheer, yet still thin enough to provide movement as you walk, and at an affordable price point. Plus, the blush color is classic, feminine and on trend.
Read on to see how to style this glam skirt!
How to Style Pleated Maxi Skirts
1. Dress Them Up
For a sophisticated summer look, dress up your pleated maxi skirts with heels, a sleek purse and shimmering accessories. This is such a great outfit for weddings, birthday parties, bridal / baby showers, or just a nice brunch!
2. Dress Them Down
For a casual chic look worthy of weekend errands, you can dress the skirt down with flats or flip flops and a graphic tee. Such an easy way to look like you put a lot of thought into your outfit, but in reality it only takes two seconds to throw together!
3. Texture Town
The skirt pleats create such great texture, it’s the perfect opportunity to juxtapose it with another bold texture like lace!
4. A Color Story
Since any pleated maxi skirt will be a statement piece, it’s a good idea to keep outfit hues in mind. Since this skirt is light-colored, I paired it with darker colors to balance it out. Balance is always key to a great outfit!
5. Balancing Act
Speaking of balance, a long skirt calls for short sleeves – especially in the warmer months for obvious reasons!
6. Edgy Glam
Another great juxtaposition is to mix edgy pieces with the glam skirt. Pair it with a leather jacket and booties for a great night on the town!
7. Have Fun!
The combination of pleats and length makes this skirt effortlessly fun – it’s literally made for running in fields and twirling and having fun with each movement! The most important part of style is always your own happiness and feeling good in your own skin. I personally find these skirts super fun which means that feeling will shine through no matter how I style them. Hope you feel the same!
